Happy half birthday LuLu! x x x

Happy half birthday!!

6 Months! Yay! x x x

Well Lulu turned 6 months on the 18th and what an exciting day we had! At 9.30am we went to the clinic for Dinky Discoverers group! LuLu played with the baby gyms and sat in a paddling pool full of shredded paper! That was great fun! When we went home at 11.30am LuLu went down for her mid-morn nap! She woke up at 12.45 in time for lunch! After lunch we made chocolate decorations (left over mix from christmas) and had a mini party with a pink balloon and lots of music! After that LuLu had a catnap for half and hour before Daddy came home! We told Daddy about our fun-filled day and then he gave LuLu her tea before a little TV time! Then we gave LuLu a bath in the big bath! LuLu thought that was great, kicking and splashing in the water (she used the baby bath before that)! After that she was all ready for bed and gave kisses and cuddles goodnight! Can't beleive my little Lu is half a year old already, it's gone so quick!

My story

Where do I begin? Well I found out I was expecting on 12th November 2008, due to a previous ectopic pregnany it was hard to get excited! I was so nervous and went to spend a week with my mom in Kent! I was due to return home the day before my scheduled early scan! The day came and I was sitting in the waiting area at ward 6x with my mother-in-law! The HCA came out and called my name "Penny Lanning" I was a nervous wreck! I walked into the scan room and laid down, as soon as the sonographer placed the ultrasound on, there it was! A bubble! "The pregnancy's in the right place" were the words I heard from the consultant, I just began to laugh, I couldn't quite believe it! I left the hospital and immediately phoned my husband (who had to work), his voice was so shaky when he answered, I just came out with it and said "It's in the right place!" He was ecstatic! I had to go for a second early scan just to check all was going well an that's when I saw the heartbeat! The consultant then told me that I was able to be treated as a "normal" pregnant lady now! The pregnancy was a bit rocky and then at 31 weeks I went to hospital with suspected premature labour! They did a FFN test that detects labour within 2 weeks, it was positive, so they gave me a steroid shot and the repeated it the next day! Despite the test being positive the 2 weeks came and went! My little girl (I found out at the 20 week scan) was hanging in there! Then at 35 weeks, another scare, I was told that the baby wasn't growing properly, so had grow scans and CTG monitors every 48 hours! At 39 weeks my consultant decided to induce me as I was already slightly dilating! It took 4 days for labour to become strong but only 4 hours of active labour! After a ventouse delivery our little Lucy Estelle Gwen Lanning was born, weighing a very healthy 6lb! She was perfect! I had 4 blood tranfusions after though due to a previous blood condition! Now we are both doing well and it's almost 6 months since little Lucy entered the world!

Well this is a fabulous way of not only becomming a flash mom on a budget but also a great way to meet other mom's in similar situations to you! I first joined netmums when I was 5 months pregnant with Lucy, I managed to meet a wonderful lady, Sal, who is now a very good friend of mine. I met Sal purely by asking for prem baby clothes due to Lucy not growing in the womb! I have also met several other friends through netmums now and have been able to help many moms too!
Netmums keeps you up to date on what's happening in your area and gives lists of local toddler groups and activites for everyone from trying to conceive right through to teenagers!

Have fun exploring the many pages and also forums from other moms

It's very east to sign up and begin listing items to gift, you can also post WANTED ads too!
